Graham at Seven Months
Well, better late than never!
Graham you turned seven months old a few weeks ago. Leading up to your seven month birthday, you sprouted your first two teeth (lower central incisors.) You started to babble consonant chains and you of course loooove to say dada (nonspecifically.) You only babble mama when you are crying (this may be specifically.) You've started to shout for attention (which was really fun to witness when you did this on the plane to every single stranger who you looked at...) You also love to sing and even try and copy me and your dad when we sing with varying inflections. You've started eating all types of food. You're eating a combination of pureed and finger foods. You love beans, eggs, and avocado the most (which means we now like to eat out at a lot of mexican restaurants.) You also like chicken and hummus. Conveniently these foods are mains in my favorite type of cuisines. I've started to supplement formula 3-4 times a day because you stopped gaining weight at your 6 month check up. You looooove bottles and started gaining great weight after added a few bottles to your daily feedings. You get way too distracted during nursing but I still do it so you can get my antibodies. This proved to be helpful when you got your first fever around 6.5 months old. Your temperature rose to 103 degrees. It was scary and completely heartbreaking to see you sick but you were able to recover quickly and fight it off. We learned that you hate getting the snot sucked out of your nose but I can tell you feel much better afterwards. You also started hating getting your diaper changed and scream in protest EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's pretty much impossible to dress you these days and I'm sure that will only get worse as you get older. I'd gladly potty train you but I don't think that would work out quite yet. As mentioned above you took your first plane ride to Los Angeles, California. The flight was 6 hours long and you only slept for 30 minutes during the entire plane ride. You were so excited the whole time and I'm so glad you find so much joy in traveling. You seemed to love California even through getting sick and having to sleep in a pack-n-play. You stopped sleeping through the night during our trip and that was hard because I started to feel like a walking dead person. We were still able to enjoy so much of the city your father and I use to call home. Your favorite days were when I took you to my friends house and you were able to play with all their kids/your new friends toys. You also seemed to enjoy going to the zoo because you love anything that has a face. You squealed every time you met someone new and came face to face with a stuffed animal. You made a new best friend, Nacho, who you played with on a daily basis because he shared his home with you. Your journey to seven months was surely something special to witness. Every month I say this but you are currently the best age and I don't want you to get a day older but also to grow older all at the same time! I love you little bug!
